A fully illustrated presentation of the history of hopping in Kent, including oat houses, growers tools and of course the hop pickers.
Joyce Green and the River Hospitals - Francine Payne

Smallpox, fevers and a war hospital: the changing roles of the River Hospitals. Francine is the author of books on the history of hospitals in the Dartford area.

A look at the inhabitants of Kentish villages. Everyone new their place from the squire at the top to the tramps and gypsies at the bottom. Cricketing vicars, schoolmasters, servants, farmer, farm workers are all here, as are the special days in the year, the village Feast Day, Christmas and Beating the Bounds.
