THE GOLDEN YEARS OF TELEVISION
On Tuesday 1st April, Wilf Lower returned to St Botolph’s church hall to give us a revealing look behind the scenes of television from its earliest years, when programmes using hand-painted scenery were broadcast from Alexandra Palace, up to the sophisticated productions we enjoy today.
He reminded us of the great variety of programmes we have watched over the years, many of which have become classics and are still being watched all over the world. Indeed, many, like Dad’s Army, are still being repeated on our screens to this day. Another very interesting talk from Wilf.
